Marvin & Donna Johnson's
1957 Bel Air 2dr Hardtop
Dallas

Marvin learned about this ’57 Bel Air for sale in Siloam Springs, Arkansas at a shop called 50’s Fun.  A meeting was arranged with the owner F.E. Bowling and upon arrival did an inspection but it was dark and difficult to see anything in the shop full of cars.  Marvin inspected the ’57 the best he could and agreed to a price.  The paint is aged and the ’57 was taken to Butch Howl to detail the paint but he could only improve some.  A front end alignment was called for and club member Terry Sealock helped with replacing the gas tank sending unit and putting a new battery in.  Marvin pulled the carburetor off and sent it to Johnnie Beavers in Plainview to overhaul.  A new generator that is really a alternator will be sourced from Steve Pratt.  New seat belts, rear view mirror, spark plugs and license plate brackets have been installed on the ’57.  Plans going forward call for lots of driving this ’57 Chevy!
