I'm going. I hope to run better than I did last Friday. I found an ignition problem that was making my car to cut out at 4500 making me short shift at 4300. She now will go to 5 grand without missing now.
Do time trials start at 8:30 AM?

I'm planning to attend. But I lost my driver. Apparently he is required to play in a baseball game Sunday. This game was just announced. He's disappointed. _________________ "A Classic Car is Not Aerodynamic" |

My hand is up in case you can't see it. In fact, I'm planning on going there tonight for practice. _________________ John Rush |

My son and I went tonight. Hooked up with Tom and his Nephew Blake. They were a great help and gave me some good advise. I sure needed it because I had never raced before. Had a blast especially once I got over my jitters. I ran 4 times. The first 2 runs I wont talk about. My best times were.....
Best RT .6886
Best ET 9.2920
Highest speed 78.88 _________________ John Rush |

It sounds like your new motor is running great! Your best time would be a 14.5 in the 1/4th. That’s great!!
I can't wait until Sunday; I think it will be great fun. I'm not making any predictions but my goal is to win in the first round. _________________ Texas Classic Chevy Experience

Beginner's Luck
Today in Denton, Texas even thought it was a hot 98 degrees I defended the DACC's honor by winning the Street Muscle Division of the Texas Muscle Car Challenge on my first outing with my 57.
Of course I had a better run when it was cooler but this was my winning run.
1/8 mile track
RT*****60 ft***330 ft****ET*****MPH**DIAL IN**DIAL OFF**TEMP
0.6512**2.6235**6.7401**10.0562**74.28**9.90***0.1562****98
I showed them that old Tri-5s could still run.
Drag racing is fun but I think I will still keep my car street because I like cruising and showing almost as much as racing. Maybe I like racing a little more now since I won on my first try, but who knows.

Hi Bill and Dianne:
And, I thought we had it bad here!!! 111
I have spent some time in Phoenix when it was 114. My friends said, "It's ok because it is a dry heat." What ever!!!!
Have a safe trip back. _________________ Texas Classic Chevy Experience

Congratulations go out to Allan Strong. Well done pal! Class winner! All that with his awesome looking dailey driver/show'N'shine 1957 car. Quite a feather for his cap. We were really happy for this to happen.
John Rush's 1956 is quite powerful with his new 383. His mph numbers tell the story. A powerful and beautiful car I should add. It sounds great.
My 396 big block 57 was running as dependable as "Big Ben". However the driver needs to improve his reaction time.
This was a really fun event for me. Thanks to all especially David Graves for getting it going and promoting the venue. _________________ "A Classic Car is Not Aerodynamic" |

All I can say is, "What a RUSH!!!" Get it?? It really was a rush running down that track for my first time ever. I feel real good about my numbers but I sure need some practice. More than once I missed either second or third gear. Fortunately they were practice runs but it made me a little too overcautious to the point where it was on my mind too much. That Tremac shifts more like a Mac truck than a racecar. Next time I'll do better. Who knows, maybe you'll see me at other test-n-tune nights.
A huge thanks goes to David and Tom for guiding me along. _________________ John Rush |

Hey. Who's the idiot racing with the window down? He should have had "Student Driver" written on his car. _________________ John Rush |

I thought the photo looked cool. You have a green light on the tree and you are so cool and casual that you have your arm out the window.
Why not the guy red lighted. _________________ Texas Classic Chevy Experience
