I am installing a 4 speed floor mounted shifter. In the "old days" guys used to remove the shifter lever from the housing on the column and grind off the protrusion and fill in the hole and repaint. Does anyone know where I can get a shifter housing with this hole closed. Does anyone make these or does anyone have one for sale? I want to retain the original column and steering box.

I have never seen a reproduction with or without the shift lever mount. You can saw off the shift lever mount, grind it smooth and fill the hole with "All-metal" or bondo and never know it was there after it's painted.

I have just learned that the shift collar is available from C&P and others 2 on e-bay that do not have the hole for the shift lever. Plan on ordering one from C&P when they are back in stock this friday.
