At the opening ADRL event for 2009 in Houston, legendary '55 Chevy Pro Mod racer Charles Carpenter suffered a fractured vertabrae from a scary incident in Round 1 of Pro Nitrous Eliminator when he lost control of his 1955 Chevy at the finish line, impacted the wall and went airborne. The car remained upright and Carpenter emerged from the car before safety crews arrived. He was checked out by medical personnel at the track and released. He was transported to the hospital later in the evening complaining of pains in his back.

Is this the same Charles Carpenter from North Carolina? The one I remember was a Nitrous PowerHouse back years ago with the three dimensionally shrunk glass bodied 55 and a Nitrous BBC. I have some pictures of the him from a Super Chevy Show at the MotorPlex back in the 80's. _________________ "A Classic Car is Not Aerodynamic" |
