Seems like the mesh over the headlights sure does reduce the brightness of my headlights. Has anybody removed the mesh that covers the headlights and did the removal effect the fit of the bra?

on my '56 Vette, no mesh, fits perfect

looking at these on passenger cars, for some reason they all have mesh, which may help keep them from being loose at speed, which you do not want or it will rub the paint finish in a way that will make you frown ..

I would be a little leary of removing the mesh ..

Yep, I've been wanting to take a razor blade to the mesh but I haven't seen one Tri 5 that has removed the mesh over the lights.

FWIW, my painter says he has repaired more damage caused by bras than he has repaired damage cuased by rock chips.
