I need a recommendation for a good semi gloss black paint for the chassis and other parts. I also need to know where to buy it. I want to stick with paint and not Rust Bullet or the others. Thanks.

I used a single stage urethane on my frame but Eastwood has a Ceramic 2 part chassis paint that is supposed to be real durable. Link....http://www.eastwood.com/2k-ceramic-cb-satin-and-activator.html It's avaliable in gloss black also.

another option that has been the standard for years when it comes to original finish chassis paint is Krylon 1613 semi flat, I think it has been discontinued but do a search on it and you may be able to locate some ..

learned a bit more about Chassis paint and inner fender paint/rad support etc ..

what Don suggests is the best bet for original chassis paint, in the 'Satin' finish of the Eastwood paint, avaliable in 3 different grades 1) Orig Chassis Black, 2) Extreme, 3) Ceramic, check their website for details ..

the hard to find Krylon 1613 spray can is not correct for chassis, but it is for fender wells, under hood, rad support, rad panels etc (this from the old Classic Chevy Judging Manual) .. 1613 is no longer readily available but word is it can be ordered through Sherwin Williams stores (who own Krylon), it is a 'industrial paint' now .. do not get 51613 or DM1613 as they have different sheen properties not matching original ..

what appears to be the 'good stuff' 1613 is now KO1613 available from
http://www.globalindustrial.com/p/maintenance/paint/aerosol/krylon-5-ball-interior-exterior-paint-semi-flat-black?a=30137856&c=B37856

the old 1613 appears to be available here ..

The Krylon KO1613 which is the 'recognized' original sheen for inner fenders, radiator supports, pretty much anything except the chassis is avaliable locally at Black Gold Imports, 2247 E Division St in Arlington, they have lots of it and use it in their VW restoration services, I picked us several cans there after a extensive search!
