I'm going to the O’Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals on Friday. Dennis the club member who has the black, blown 55 Chevy said he will be working in the pits of one of the cars racing. He said to stop by, but I can't remember what team he will be at. Any one know?

I will be there all three days.. Dennis Gormley will be at Amato's Top Fuel pit, you will find me around Mitch King's Top Fuel car, be sure about 1-2 hours before they run the nitro cars park yourself in the pits and get near a nitro car warmup! Or find me or Dennis and we will get you up close and personal with nitro! Daily schedule here - http://www.nhra.com/apcm/templates/event_schedule.asp?articleid=2467&zoneid=91&navsource=21

I got to go the O’Reilly NHRA Fall Nationals Friday. I took 51 students. When we got there and it was raining. I was disappointed I didn't have the time to look up Dennis and David like I wanted to. When the track finally dried out we had to leave Sad But, I did get to eat some pork butt on a stick. MMMMMM. Only saw 2 Tri-fives and only got one photo.

race was great and the weather played a big part of that.. I don't like to dwell on race car accidents but during Friday night qualifying there was a very bad accident in the Pro Stock session involving Bruce Allen and Kenny Koretsky and since the safety equipment performed as advertised I will share links to the video here .. it is frankly amazing ..

the first one is a windows media file

these are Quicktime files

the drivers were banged up as expected but survived ..

Man, that was some wreck. Did any parts fly up into the stands? From the film I could see enough metal flying that I'm glad I was not on the lane that the pit crew drives on.

Thanks for posting the crash.
