DACC GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
11-17-2012

This year our annual meeting was held at JACK JUNKIES which is a new business located in Plano. Our meal for the meeting was provided by DACC and members Marvin Cowden and George Johnson worked the serving line. We had great attendance and the food and tour of the facility were enjoyed.

David Graves, President, called the meeting to order. After a brief welcome and opening comment, he asked that the Board members and all members to introduce themselves.

Board members present were David Graves, Greg Hedum, Larry Epperson, Alan Strong, George Johnson and Marvin Cowden.

Elections were next on the agenda and Larry Epperson called for nominations from the floor for the four positions up for election. They are Vice President – Greg Hedum; Treasurer – Billie Walker; Board Members –Marvin Cowden and George Johnson. Greg Hedum and Marvin Cowden will retain their position for the next two years. Treasurer currently held by Billie Walker will be filled by Tom Walker, and Board member George Johnson’s position to be filled by John Rogers. All positions were approved and are a two year term.

David introduced the owner of Jack Junkies and asked him to give some background on his facility. William Callahan and his wife Alyce are the owners of Jack Junkies and for additional information, you can check out their website.

Next, David discussed old business and a review of the activities of the year.

The year 2011 ended with the annual ramp building and a Christmas party at Victoria Restaurant followed by the Christmas Tour of Lights in Farmers Branch Historical Park. We had a good turnout for this year end event.

DACC 2012 EVENTS:

January – We met at Frosty’s in Denton, Texas for a meet and greet.
February – Dallas Autorama we had an 8 car display.
March- Spring Classic Chevy at sponsor Reliable Chevrolet in Richardson,

NEW BUSINESS

The 31st annual Lone Star Convention will be hosted by the Concho Classic Chevy Club in San Angelo, Texas May 24, 25 & 26, 2013. Additional details will be in our weekly newsletter as information is received. Registration and Hotel information is on the LoneStarChevys.com website.
David said that the 2013 Calendar looks similar as the 2012 calendar with minor changes and has asked all members who might have an activity that they would like, please give him a call.

Regarding club sponsors, David expressed that he feels positive that Reliable Chevrolet will renew, unsure on Wilson Auto Repair and Heritage Insurance renews mid year so not sure right now. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to our sponsors.

Our membership to date is 167, a decrease of 3 from this time last year. We’ve added several new members but unfortunately have lost a few. We are still trying to reach our goal of 200 members.

David gave a brief financial report that we currently have approximately $7,500.00 in the bank.

One revision to our activity schedule for 2013 is our Drive-In Movie night in Granbury, Texas. We are planning to combine that with a Poker Run to hopefully encourage more participation.

There was a brief discussion on WRENCHES – This is a program where we assist other members that have maintenance or restoration needs on their Tri-Fives and in turn can enjoy the same when you are in need. Let us know and those that can help will show up at your place to give assistance or advice where needed. P.S. WRENCHES…an acronym for Wacky Retirees Enjoying Neat Chevys, Hot Rods, Engines & Stuff!

A big part of our website is the FEATURE CAR with a story and picture of your car in the newsletter. If your car has not been featured yet, please contact David Graves and arrange a time when he can meet with you to take photos of your car and get the details of your story. We are also looking for news stories that you may have concerning your ‘OTHER CAR’ (your non Tri Five Chevy).

We have started a ‘REMEMBER WHEN’ in our weekly newsletter where members can submit a picture of themselves in their youth hopefully with a car in the background for members to ‘guess who’ prior to reading the answer.

Diane Preston gave a brief report on this year’s Fall Foliage tour in Arkansas. In 2013, DACC will be the host club for the Fall Foliage tour which is to be held in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Diane will need help in getting the activities planned. If you have any suggestions or time to assist it will be greatly appreciated. We urge all of DACC members to put this event on their 2013 schedule for a fun filled touring event. Complete event info is on the club website under the ‘Calendar’ link.

David dismissed the meeting for 2012 and several continued to enjoy the Jack Junkies facility.
