So,?I know how to take the knob out of the head light switch. While painting my dash Iremoved the pull knob and unbolted the switch.
My problem is when I push the pull knob back the knob will not catch and pulls back out.
Have any ideas? Beides buying another switch, I don't know wat to do with this switch.

| Did you try holding the button in while putting the shaft in and then let the button snap out? Is the bezel rotated correctly and the nut tight enough to hold the switch tight against the back of the dash? |

In regards to the light switch, when I took it out I noticed the metal holding bracket for the dome dimmer had a slight bend. I bent it back and that 1/8" made the difference. It works fine now.
As for my painting, it is okay. I want everything to be perfect and my skill level plus equipment is not up to the standards I will accept most of the time. That just means that I have to do every step two or three times to make it acceptable. I would be angry if the process was not the fun of what I'm doing.
Knowing what to do and doing it well are two different things. You can watch others and read books about paint and body all your want, but nothing works better that actual practice. My whole life, I've wanted to paint a whole car. My goal is to do little projects on my hobby car to where I feel I can feel competent to complete a whole paint job like my club heroes Bill and Don have done to their cars.
I will post progress pictures soon.
