Patrick ..
9:30 is a good time for spectators, or really anytime..
probably need to be there by 9:30 also if you will be racing .. the first time trials will get underway about that time .. and if you are racing, you get two time trials, then the eliminations begin .. and DACC members will be there to help keep any new racers on track with the event .. _________________ In My Garage -

The club had a great turnout for the 'Day at the Drags' in Denton today. Thanks to all the members that came out to enjoy the day, special thanks to Tom Walker for managing and handling all the picnic chores prior and during the day and Marvin Cowden for his valuable assistance, and also to Christine Baughan for sending along the cookies with Jim for all to share! Hopefully we will get a report on the actually race results here, as most of our racers got some round wins, and as is the case with racing a few had breakage before eliminations took place. Look for more pictures soon on the club website!

Here's a little information on the drag race picnic event. We had 14 members plus their family and friends
in attendance. 6 members obtained tech cards for the race event. Club sponsor Ricco Padilla had his
supercharged red '57 car, however a mechanical gremlin prevented him making the call for class. Jim B. was in
his Blue Coupe after a short night's rest as he had just made it back from Saturday night's SHRA event in
Temple. Mild fatigue may have caused Jim's round 1 red light. Kenneth B. brought out his freshly painted 2
tone '56 Belair with the new 503 big block Chevrolet powerplant. Event with the fresh setup Kenneth made 3
rounds in the previously untested car. James C. was ever present in his '57 and managed 3 rounds. Rodney
N. had a new police cruiser race car but went out 2 round with a breakout. John R. had his big block
powered blue Nova entered and went 2 rounds trying to refresh skills after a long period since last racing. _________________ "A Classic Car is Not Aerodynamic" |
