With the upcoming DACC Spring Classic Chevy Show also serving as our big 40th Anniversary celebration, let's take the next few Throwback Thursdays and reflect back on some of those events. The Spring Show started in 2005 and has been on our calendar every year since. Always a free show, and one that has had no formal judging, the only awards are for 'Favorites' that are picked by our club sponsors. Here, club member Rodney Nevils accepts his recognition as Reliable Chevrolet's Favorite Corvette at the 2006 show with his blown '56 Corvette - amazingly 10 years ago!!!

Throwback this week is in 2009 at the Spring Classic Chevy Show and the damp wet weather that year kept the car count down but it didn't effect the quality as evidence here. Chuck Rader brought his Matador Red '57 from Flower Mound and was selected by Reliable Chevrolet as their Favorite '57 of the show, here Chuck gets congratulated by Reliable's General Manager Dave Anderson.

Throwback Thursday again and this week we go back just a few years in DACC's 40 year history to 2012 at the Spring show where club member Irv Engelbrecht's '55 150 Sedan from Lufkin was selected as Heritage Insurance's Favorite Tri Five Chevy at the show!

For Throwback Thursday, we go back to last weekend! The DACC celebrated 40 years and with the help of Reliable Chevrolet we pulled off a birthday bash like no other with officially 108 '55-'57 Chevys attending! With City Mayors, movie stars and TV crews all around, this was one heck of a celebration to a great club that started in 1976 thanks to Greg Easley. Happy Birthday DACC!

For this week's Throwback Thursday, we stay at the 40th Anniversary of DACC show just a couple of weeks ago, in this shot we have past club President Earnest Lander sporting an old school DACC jacket from back in the day! This likely is one of the earliest DACC apparel items a club member could get and this one belonging to Earnest is in excellent condition!

For Throwback Thursday this week we go to August 1978 during the early stages of the national 'Classic Chevy Club' organization and their monthly magazine called Classic Chevy World. Current DACC member Carl Mitcham, then a Amarillo resident, was building his reputation as a premier restorer of 1957 Chevrolets, and had his latest restoration featured on the cover of the magazine 38 years ago!

It's Throwback Thursday again, and with the upcoming Poker Run on the DACC calendar, let's travel back 6 years when the club held a Poker Run that took us to Ellis County and the courthouse on the square in Waxahachie.

Let's do another Throwback on Poker Runs, since we got rained out last week and will try again this week (which the weather forecast looks great for!), this Throwback Thursday has a happy Nina Salinas in 2012 and why not, her and Andy spent the day cruising the Texas countryside in their '56 Bel Air AND she was a winner in the poker game! A great way to spend a spring Texas day!

With the 34th Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention coming up June 3-4 in Waco, let's Throwback 10 years to 2006 when DACC hosted this event, seen here is the poster for the Friday Night Drags we hosted that featured the '55 Chevy of club member Sonny Poteet. Look for Sonny to be at Waco and expect him to do one of his legendary burnouts in his blown big block '55!

Another Throwback Thursday, this week staying with the 2006 Lone Star event hosted by DACC, this event featured 1000 pt Classic Chevy judging nationally recognized as the measuring stick for '55-'57 Chevys and Jim Conkle showed his '55 Chevy in the Custom Driven 1955 Class and earned a Silver Certificate! Silver Certificates were given to cars that scored between 900 and 949 points on the 1000 pt scale.
