Does anyone know if you have to have a front bumper on your car in Texas? I'm thinking of taking mine off to cut weight for racing at the TMCC, but I don't want to get a ticket driving to the race.

Alan, I don't think a bumper is required, but I'm not sure. Here is the Texas transportation code and I didn't see a bumper listed. Chapter 547 is a list of required equiptment.

Alan..

get a good consistent dial in and don't worry about taking your bumper off ... success is not how quick you run, it's how consistent you are with RPM's, shifting, rear wheel speed etc ..

I would hate to see you taking bumpers off, before long you're going to be yanking the doors off, the trunk off ..
