I have a 265. The tab starting at the bottom has 3 marks then a 0, 4 to 5 marks up is an A. See you on the 11th.

The mark at zero is TDC (top dead center). Each mark is 2 degrees and the A means the advance direction. The original spec. on timing was 4 degrees before top dead center at 1000 RPM with the vacuum disconnected and pluged.

I thought each mark was one. I was able to set it but I think the carb is gone. When I rev it stubles backfires and reves up and I smell gas lots of it. It has a Holly that I have rebuilt several times, I am thinking of an eddlebrock. Do you think It is the carb?
