The Annual ‘Woodstock’ of ’55-’57 Chevys is coming in August in Bowling Green, Kentucky and a number of DACC members are planning to attend. This is a bucket list event if you have never been and one to plan on each year after your first! This year the attendance is expected to top 2500! If you are interested in caravanning to Bowling Green, there will be a group leaving Dallas on Wednesday August 9th with a stop in Forrest City, Ark (just this side of Memphis, TN) for the night. From there the group will motor on into Bowling Green on the evening of Thursday August 10th. If you would like to join the group caravan from North Texas, please let David Graves know of your plans as we start putting together our list of folks planning to caravan. Reach David at David@DallasClassicChevy.com. For more information on the Tri Five Nationals, find info on the web at www.TheTriFiveNationals.com. Who knows, you may be returning home with the ’57 Chevy giveaway car called the ‘All American’!
And here's a little video teaser on this cold winter day for what's coming in August! (and check out club member Ken Burton's '56 in this clip!)

We are less than 100 days from the 2017 Tri Five Nationals! Registrations are over 1400 now, several hundred ahead of last year's record number so again expect the turnout record to reach a new mark when August rolls around! Plan to join other DACC members in Bowling Green!

The event is over, and over 2600 '55-'57 Chevys attended!, the event was off the charts! A large number of DACC members attended and it was great to see our club have such a great turnout, I am pretty sure they were not disappointed! The caravans to and from proved to be helpful as a few issues arose getting there and back. Larry Epperson blew out a tire west of Memphis but the group got him going, and after some delays he finally got to Bowling Green, big thanks to Johnny and Darrell Gentry for their help. Heard that Mike Reeves also blew out some tires on his trailer. Returning, Marvin Johnson had a trailer tire blow that took some time to get repaired. But the most serious issue didn't involve the travel. Club member Larry Rogers who owns Heritage Insurance and is a club sponsor on top of being a member had a health issue, and remains in Bowling Green in intensive care at this time. Larry drove his '57 from Tyler alone, and now his wife Melody is in Bowling Green to see this thru and get Larry back to Tyler, but that could be a week or so as they must get him stable before they can copter him home. This created an issue with Larry's '57 being in Bowling Green and how to get it home. Fortunately the club really showed their colors and with the efforts of many we got his '57 back to Texas. A big thanks to all the club members who showed up to help get his '57 loaded, but a special thanks to William and Billy Walker for their over the top efforts. They had brought their '55 drag car and golf carts. After some 'rearranging' the Walkers were able to free up a trailer and Billy Walker hauled Larry's '57 back to Texas where it awaits Larry's return. A fantastic effort and our thoughts and prayers are with Larry Rogers as we want to get him back to Tyler to his '57 Chevy!
Below just a couple of shots, first the effort to get Larry Epperson back on the road, then just a sample of the atmosphere at Beech Bend Raceway Park, and then the last photo of the group as we brought Larry Roger's '57 back home to Texas. There are many photos and videos like this gallery link already on the internet, so if you were foolish and didn't attend just google Tri Five Nationals and see what you missed!

More on the club website and newsletter soon!
Oh, the '57 'Giveaway Car' is going to Fiano Guzzo in Maine. You must be present to win and a woman named Nancy was drawn as the winner but she never claimed her prize (apparently left to early!) from the thousands there all watching, so she lost out and Fiano was the next pick and needless to say he responded from the crowd and got himself a '57 gasser!
NEXT YEAR THE DATES ARE AUGUST 10-11, 2018! DON'T MESS AROUND, THE HOTELS ALL BOOK UP FAST! Register for the event online at www.TheTriFiveNationals.com. _________________ In My Garage -

|
|
We parked in the area where the car was moved to and congratulated the winner on his win and met his fiancé
Several of his friends plus his fiancé was there and this is the interesting note
Fiano was diagnosed with kidney failure last year and didn't know whether he could even make the trip. Several attempts to find a kidney felled and he was losing hope of survival. Then, by some miracle , the drs tested his fiancé and she was a perfect match. The surgery took place early this year and he and his fiancé are in good health and excited to make the show
Fiancé said it was just a 'last minute' idea to have her tested as a perfect match
NOW that's WINNER!!!!!! _________________ in my Garage:

GOOD NEWS for Larry Rogers. He was released today from the Bowling Green hospital that he has been in for the past week, will be making his way back to Tyler hopefully Sunday. Ahead of him is visits with his doctors and lots of rehab to get him back in shape. He seems to be doing well considering but is very weak. Glad to see him get back to Texas! _________________ In My Garage -
