Does it get any cooler than this? Cruisin down the highway in a big block blown '55 Bel Air? For Throwback Thursday we have this shot of Sonny Poteet from the 2006 Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention hosted by DACC. We do it again in 2018 on May 24- 27!!!

Throwback Thursday finds us at the 1977 Dallas Autorama, the first event that the DACC participated in. This display was featured in a earlier Throwback but let's expand on this just a little. DACC has had a club display at this show every year since 1977 - an AMAZING accomplishment! This first ever display had 9 Tri Five Chevys that found Darrell McKenzies' '55 and Ellen Wallace's '57 on the front row. The remainder of the lineup starting with Ellen's '57 and behind it we had Dan Gardner's '56 Bel Air Hardtop, then David Graves' '55 Bel Air Hardtop and rounding out that row was Mike Cook's '55 Convertible. The other row had Darrell's '55 up front followed by Greg Easley's '55 Bel Air Hardtop, Ray Trevathan's '57 Convertible, Rick Smith's '55 flamed Bel Air Hardtop and Albert Collier's Purple street gasser style '55 Bel Air Hardtop. 41 years later the DACC will have another 8 '55-'57 Chevys to display at the 2018 Autorama!

With the Lone Star '36' '55-'57 Chevy Nationals event coming up in May hosted by DACC, let's take a trip back to 2011 when we last hosted this event and created the world's best Tri Five Chevy drive in movie and showed 'American Graffiti' on the big screen with star Candy Clark in the house to watch! In 2018 we will be showing the classic road movie 'Two Lane Blacktop' at Lone Star on Memorial Day weekend in Irving!

It's been a while since we had a Throwback Thursday photo! This takes us back to 1983 and club member Bennie Kirtley behind the wheel of his '57 Bel Air under the lights at Texas Raceway in Kennedale for one of the club's drag racing events!

This weeks Throwback Thursday finds us in 1985 and the DACC hosted one of several Classic Chevy National Conventions that year, this one over the July 4th weekend in Dallas and we had a super turnout from all over the country! We had some locals do well in the Show N Shine competition and here is club member Joe Williamson of Garland who took a Silver Award and 2nd Place in the 1957 Modified Class!

We Throwback this Thursday to 1982 and the Ardmore Classic Chevy Run that was held each September in Oklahoma. Here is club member Earnest Lander putting the shine on his '57 Chevy. Earnest was our club President for several years during 80's and is still a member today!

Throwback Thursday this week features club member Mike Tatum on the road coming back from a club event in his beautiful '55 Sedan Delivery sometime in 1981, those subtle ghost flames against the white were a nice touch!

Back in the 80's, club member Carl Mitcham cranked out top notch '57 Chevys from his Amarillo home and became nationally recognized as one of the best in the nation, he moved to the North Texas area years ago but before being a full time resident of this area he made the trip to the 1985 Classic Chevy Convention hosted by DACC in Dallas and his then current '57 Convertible took 1st Place AND a GOLD Certificate in the highly competitive '57 Trailered Restored Class and here is his 'winners photo' with that car at that event!

It's Throwback Thursday and it's February and that means Autorama! Out club has had a display at this show every year since 1977! Back in 2007 it was the 50th Anniversary of the legendary '57 Chevy show it was nothing but appropriate for our club to celebrate big with a huge display at the Autorama of only '57 Chevys! We had 12 club members display that year and it was a fantastic way to honor the '57 Chevy!

Another Throwback Thursday and this week we go back 10 years to the 2011 Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention that our club hosted. We had drag racing at this Lone Star which was a first and we had a great turnout of '55-'57 Chevys participate, including club member Larry Rollow shown here in his '57 Chevy!

Throwback Thursday takes us back to the 2006 Dallas Autorama where our club had a fantastic lineup of nothing but '56 Chevys from these guys and we were featured locally on television news in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the 1956 Chevy! L to R John Rush, Nick Roppollo, Rodney Nevils, Bill Preston, James Sparrow, Joe Gaikoski and Dennis Gormley.

It's the HOT Texas Nights Car Show, something the club has been attending for years and in this shot from 2008 club members are prepping their cars for the evening show and yes that temperature in the background says 104 degrees!

ALWAYS a popular activity with the club, DRIVING OUR CARS! There's nothing like a Texas highway full of '55 Chevys like this from back in 2007 when we headed north to Muenster, Texas for some good German food!

1st Throwback Thursday for 2022! Take a trip back to the 1976 Dallas Autorama where at this specific show club founder Greg Easley had his '55 Bel Air on display and was taking names and addresses of those interested in starting a '55-'57 Chevy club! Later that spring our club had its first meeting when we gathered in the parking lot at Northpark Shopping Center and here we are 46 years later still devoted to the 'Tri Five Chevy'! This video clip shows several Tri Fives at the Autorama and the next year DACC would have a display and the club has continued non stop at this show ever since! Check out this news clip from the 1976 Autorama -
