I can't seem remove my '57 hood baffle cross brace after removal of all the fasteners. It's captured inside the hood's reinforced edges and can't be slid diagonally very far to create sufficient clearance to drop it out of position. Looks like it needs to be bent/sprung to shorten it a sufficient amount to allow it to be taken out. Anybody done this? In the Eckler's catalog it is PN 31-347.
I finally got it out!
I believe the answer is to twist the baffle from the driver's side, drop it down then wiggle it loose from the passenger side. This does not deform the piece as it does spring back from being twisted. At least for others that's how I finally removed it.
