Saturday October 23rd at San Antonio Raceway the Texas Timing Association will play host to this big 'old school' style drag racing event called the Texas State Championships (originally held over 50 years ago at the long gone Caddo Mills Drag Strip northeast of Dallas and originally hosted by the North Texas Timing Assocation), and to promote their event the Association has purchased TV ads in DFW, Austin and San Antonio to be shown during this weekend's ESPN2 coverage of the NHRA National event from the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, the TV ad features lots of old clips and some new one's mixed in and if you pay close attention you will catch DACC's Dennis Gormley's hard charging blue '55 Sedan, be sure and watch the coverage from the Motorplex to see the ad on ESPN2 Sunday September 26th (qualifying coverage 9am-10am, elimination coverage 6pm-9pm) and to get more info on the event itself in San Antonio on October 23rd go to http://www.texastiming.com/
