Today was a wonderful day. Went to my trauma doctor for a check-up. My left lung is fully inflated and all the busted ribs are healing nicely. I'm pretty
much pain free now and living with no pain pills. My next milestone is next
week when I go see the pelvic doctor to see when I can start walking like regular people again. I'm not allowed to place any weight on my right leg.
Right now I'm walking with a walker on one leg. Very Happy

Yesterday we came out of the orthopedic doctor's office with some good news. Aug. 14 is the day I can start using my right leg again . He will at that time allow me to start walking again. He ok'd crutches so I'm moving away from the walker. So steady as we go. Very Happy

Your not alone on that chicken thing. There have times on my car when doing areas I wanted to run for the hills, but I always humor myself with,
"how hard can it be" and dive in. Sometimes the fear of making a mistake or unknown can cause hesitation. We have a saying in the model shop were I work and it is: You can tell who the best modelers are by how fast they fix their own screw ups. Very Happy This seat stuff is something new to me so we will learn together. Very Happy All fun stuff.

Well here we go again. I started working the right door gap and also decided to finsh the rear seat lower.

I cover the frame with burlap.

Then I followed with a layer of jute.

At that point it's a matter of hogringing the cover in place. Very Happy

The Grandkids had to get in the act.

We can.t forget the door gap. I got the ole grinder out and started adjusting the gap. I finally got it where I wanted. I then went over it with some filler. I'm very close to having it done. Primer here I come.

While laying on my back recovering from the accident the more I though on that Taiwin hood the more I started hating it. So I went and found an original.
That thing fit so well Very Happy Very Happy

I like to move around a bit to keep things interesting. So I started body work on the top. That thing really collected a pile of knuckle bumps over the years.
I had to hammer/dolly the flat spots out.

Once the dollying was completed I sanded the area and put a thin layer of Bondo over the area. Remember when sanding curved areas be sure to use a cross hatch pattern, you don't want to do much strait line sanding.

Glad to hear your able to get back to the 55. My roof had some serious dents also. I think they were cheek impression from someone sitting on the roof to watch the drive-in movie. Shocked
I used a flexible sanding board on the curved areas. Does that board bend?

The board I'm using is pretty rigid that's why it's important to sand in the correct direction and angle, at some point I will probably need to get a tool like yours. Great tool. Over the years another tool we would use spreading
filler would be a long flat thin strip of spring steel. It would span across the
lower areas and follow the contour of the surface, it would better control
the filler application for less sanding. Thank You!

The ice is on the ground and it seems like a good time to do some 55 Chevy stuff.

I going to be in that body work mode for a while so I jumped on the left fender
and started moving, ( I stayed warmer that way) Laughing

I thought I would finish the little bit left and prime it when the temp warms a bit. I did get another brick in the wall.

Ok sports fans I went in Friday morning ( 12-20-13), to get the pelvic rods removed and it went well. I'm sore right now but as we know that goes with the territory. I'm planning on using the pelvic rods to make the throttle linkage from the firewall to carb. Marvin is the one who got me thinking about putting the rod on the car so after chewing on the idea for a bit the carb link seemed perfect. Laughing

Shocked
