The time had come to place and tack weld the quarter on the body. I had my moments of panic but in time it worked out.

Over the Christmas break I decided to tackel the left rocker panel being that it attaches to the quarter panel. Wow,,,,,rust city.
All one can do is cut ,grind, remove and search for a better car.

To remove all the rocker panels (inner and outer), I had to cut into the floor pan and braces. That all cool it's all going by-by anyway.
They always told me to keep suckin tell you do suckceed,,well I did.
I got the rocker panel in place.
Oh,the white stuff is just left over blasting media. _________________ David Hudson

With the rocker in place and the quarter panel welded in and dressed up, I primed it all.
It's time to do the other quarter and rocker. _________________ David Hudson

David, your making amazing progress. It all looks great. I'm anxious to see my car get to that stage. Keep the pics coming. They are encouraging. The main hold up on my cars progress is my checkbook! I'm sure it will all come together in time. _________________ "Getting older is inevitable......acting your age is a choice....I choose not to! |

Thank You guys!
Amazingly the front fenders where in good shape except for the eyebrows over the lights. Those areas were the first things I repaired. I practiced with that before moving to something large.
I have found out that a good amount of common sense will take you a long way in doing these repaires. I run into a problem I'll take my time, chew on it then get at it. _________________ David Hudson

My friend Marvin Cowdin rebuilt my 327 I found on the internet. He even let me drive His 55.
I can't wait to put this in it. _________________ David Hudson

Well it's been a while since I have posted but the Chevy work continued.
After fiinishing the left quarter I moved to the right quarter. Cleaned, bang out some bad spots, new seals and primed.

I have been waiting to put the floor pans in forever it seems.
Well waiting time is over.
A view from the bottom.I don't have all the braces in yet.
When the new floor is in place I'm going to drop the frame to repair, blast, and paint.

Well I push through the warm/hot July4 weekend.I went to the car show in Ft. Worth and was taken back by the craftsmanship that was exibited. So I decided
to body work my quarter panels and I think it's starting to resemble a car again.
