Thank You guys!
I don't think I have to tell you folks that the grill area can be (as I found out), a stinker. I finally got the grill and trim parts to come together and play nice with each other.I still feel it needs a bit more shouting at,,I mean tweaking. I also started to sort through my stainless to see what I have and need. I want to fit all of it before final body work and paint. I would sure hate to paint that guy and find out something wont match or fit.

Thank you
That's a thought and I mean a thought.
Hi all,
Are there any manuals or guides that spec out the locations of all the stainless, scripts, badges that are on the 55 Belair 2dr. HT.
Hopefully I can download something.
Thanks David _________________ David Hudson

I got a bit of a shock tonight when I taped in place the stainless parts on the
rear quarter panel. I appears that the folks who stamped the panel totally missed the locations of the stainless holes.
I needed to know this before the coatings were laid down so I could patch and move. This is good ol American
stamped quarter. Well I guess after the US stamper finished with it they sent it to Tawain to get the holes drilled.

Looks like you have the wrong paint dividers for the quarters. Hardtop dividers are shorter and that would move the trim up to were it should be. |

David, lookin' good. Is that the correct paint devider? The HT and sedan are different, but I don't know what's different about them. Maybe the length???
I guess I type too slow. |

Most likely no help, but the paint dividers on my '57/150 are 13 inches long measured at the angle they are set. From the top of the stainless to the bottom of the window is 11 and 1/4 inches or 12 inches from the window to the center of the stainless. I know you car is not a '57 but, I hope the measurements from my car in some way may help make sense of the stainless not lining up.

What a way to wake up. I race over to the car and sure nuff the buffed ones I bought are too long. Like I said I have the original ones that came with it.Looks like it's back over to Classic Stainless again to have him patch the small hole in one and buff them. Now I'll have to peddle the shiny ones.
Thank You guys,I was really baffled. I didn't know there was a difference
with the paint dividers. If you hadn't said something I would have been
rolling around with lowrider stainless. _________________ David Hudson

OK, I worked the door and quarter panel to make the door gap good and also fix all those little dings and dents that some how got there when I was hammering and banging during installation of the panel. Anyway, I have a happy face right now. The quarter panel radius where the paint divider mounts was different than the paint divider so I had to give the quarter some massage therapy to make the divider fit.

A bit more bling. I got the driver's side door and rocker in order today. I'm planning to sort out the driver's side and back then more to the other passenger
side and back then move to the front clip for the finishout work.

I just talked to David's wife, he was struck while riding his motorcycle home from work yesterday (Friday, 5/17). He has multiple fractures of the pelvis and ribs, bruised lungs and heart. He's in stable condition. The verdict is still out if he'll need surgery.
He's in the Harris Methodist Trauma ICU and can have visitors. I'll try to keep everyone up to date on his condition here.
Update: I just got back from visiting with David, he is in no condition to visit with anyone, much pain, much medicine and needs lots of rest.

Update 5/20/2013: No change, still in and out of 'sleep'. _________________ I'm addicted to brake fluid but I can stop anytime I want.

That's terrible news. I hope he gets well soon. I wrecked on my bike in 2006. I broke 5 ribs, elbow, & both wrists. Still not as bad as poor David. I feel for him a will send him positive thoughts.
