Yes they are 56 inch fine thread or 5/16 by 24 about 3/half inches long. They also have a fixed washer under the head.

Thanks Kenneth,
Is there a place to find the sizes of body hardware for the 55/55's?

I'm not aware of a good reference for body hardware deminisions. Some of them are in the parts catalog in section 10.463.

You can get most of the hardware in kits from the vendors such as the hinge bolts which are 5/16-24 by 7/8" with a shorter head than a standard bolt, but it's not necessary unless your restoreing for originality.

You would probably be ahead by getting the front end sheetmetal kit from one of the vendors like this. Link to fasteners....http://www.classicchevy.com/chevy-front-end-sheet-metal-fastener-kit-1955.html ....As you can see, there is a lot of different fasteners used on the front sheetmetal. The same piece of sheetmetal can fasten with several different size screws and bolts. Here's an example of one part fastened with standard thread bolts and a sheet metal bolt next to it. ....http://www.trifive.com/garage/55%20Chevy%20Assembly%20Manual/11-2.gif ....The assembly manual has the bolt part #'s but no reference to what size they are. Here is a link to the assembly manual if you don't have one. Click on the sheet #. ... http://www.trifive.com/garage/55%20Chevy%20index.htm
