Would it be correct to use a Tonawanda manufactured engine (T55F suffix) in my 1955 Nomad that was assembled in Los Angeles?
Assuming the dates roughly match the assembly time frame. I can't seem to find any definitive answers out there.
Is the place of manufacture for the engine a judged item?
Thanks for any help. |

There were 2 engine plants and they both were located in the east . They shipped out engines to all plants from there. Engine stampings from Flint and Tonawanda are found in LA built cas . One plant may only build . certain engines as in the 57 high performance ,270 hp 283 hp is built only in ther Flint Mich.plant. I hope this helps in your decision on the choice of stampings. black57 |

Thanks for the info. I'll check out the engine next week to see if it is a good core to rebuild.
Thanks again. |
