I am sad to report that one of our past members Gil Thomas passed away this week after a car accident in Wylie. Gil was a great Chevy enthusiast who joined DACC in the early 80's and was a active member for many years. Alot of our older members will remember the many 'Tech Sessions' DACC had at Gil's Exxon service station at the corner of Arapaho and Coit in Richardson, when we had Tri Five Chevys parked all over that gas station and all the bays full and cars up on lifts. Anytime you needed help on your Chevy, Gil was there for you. Gil loved his '57 Chevy sedan, and drove, raced and showed it all the time. Below is the winners photo from the 1985 Classic Chevy Club National Convention in Dallas with him and his son, and yes those are slicks on the back of his '57 as he not only entered the Show N Shine but participated in the drag racing portion of the event. You will be missed my friend.
