Long awaited but from reviews worth the wait is a movie about the legends of the quarter mile Don Prudhomme and Tom McEwen that is hitting the screens now and looks like the DFW area will get them in select theatres on Sept 27th. This is quite a story about taking a drag racing hobby and going big time with it in a time that wasn't done. The movie has gotten great reviews and should be a great way to spend a couple of hours.

Check it out, I don't think you will be disappointed even if you don't care for racing....

and I must share a photo I took on Sept 19, 1971 at Dallas International Motor Speedway in Lewisville (long gone - used to be on I35E across from where Vista Ridge Mall is today), this photo I see all over the internet and I suppose is one of my most widely viewed ever and it captures that special time depicted in the movie.

Great photo. You were about 14 when you took the photo? What a great time for racing and how lucky to have a national venue so close to home. Thanks for sharing.

Just left the AMC in Mesquite.
This movie is worth the time, 1hour & 45 minutes of very interesting history and it does have a story line.
We had the movie to ourselves only 3 others were there,
