This week's Throwback Thursday stays on the annual Garage Crawl that DACC does each March, and last year's was a great one! Perfect weather and 3 stops that included this stop at Andy Salinas' garage that is more like a 50's diner and he fed us all with some great cooking!

With the upcoming Spring Classic Chevy Show hosted by DACC at Reliable Chevrolet on Sunday April 9th, let's take a Throwback Thursday look one year ago when the Show also served as a 'Birthday Party' for the club as we celebrated our 40th Anniversary with over 100 '55-'57 Chevys that not only filled the Reliable Chevrolet parking lot, but just about every other nook and cranny at the dealership in Richardson!

We continue to reflect back on past Spring Classic Chevy Shows for Throwback Thursday this week, and here at the 2008 show Bob Vaughan's beautiful '57 Chevy called 'Peggy Sue' was selected as the Favorite '57 Chevy at the event.

This weekend it's the 12th Annual Spring Classic Chevy Show, so for Throwback Thursday we step back one year, when the show was also our club's 40th Anniversary Celebration and the cars and stars turned out big with over 100 '55-'57 Chevys on the lot, live music, Amer Graffiti star Candy Clark on hand and the 'Car Guys Show' came out and did a feature on us for their TV show, check out the video below!

Throwback Thursday focuses this week on the Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention, now in it's 35th year when we gather in San Marcos next month!, and what would a Lone Star be without a Sonny Poteet burnout, like this one in 2013 on the streets of San Angelo site of Lone Star XXXI!

This week Throwback Thursday stays on the Lone Star Convention and Sonny Poteet, and here in this Throwback photo, Sonny is at the Lone Star '29' event hosted by DACC in 2011, and is taking Marlene Graves for a ride at the Lone Star drags in his '55 blown big block Chevy!

This Thursday we Throwback to the 2007 Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention held in Austin, and the DACC caravan to Austin stopped off in Waco at the famous 'Health Camp on the Circle' restaurant, this place dates back to 1949 so where else would a bunch of Tri Five Chevys fit in better than this place!

Throwback Thursday takes us to the 2006 24th Annual Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention hosted by DACC and part of the weekend included a tour of the Painless Performance facility in Ft Worth!

Throwback Thursday this week lands on the Thursday before Lone Star 35, the longest running Tri Five Chevy gathering in the country. With a wet forecast ahead in San Marcos where the Tri Five Chevys will be gathering, lets go back to 2010 when San Antonio played host and it was rainy that weekend too! Here is Loren Baxter in his '56 Bel Air heading down the road pointed towards San Antonio.

This week's Throwback Thursday looks forward to the upcoming Poker Run that George Johnson has organized for the club, and in looking back I think I understand why when we thought we were not going to have a Poker Run this year he volunteered to set it up... seems he's a winner alot of the time like this time in 2010!

Throwback Thursday reflects back on a good friend to many in the DACC that recently passed away, Nick Roppolo. Sadly we lost Nick on May 23rd but he will be remembered by club members for his always great smile and for his beautiful '56 Chevy. It not only looked great but he enjoyed racing it too! Here he is in 2009 at the Texas Thaw Drags in Denton where he won his class!

Throwback Thursday this week highlights the 1st Tri Five Nationals in Bowling Green, Kentucky where a number of DACC members showed up and took in this special event that is about to celebrate it's 3rd year in a few weeks. Here, Larry Epperson took the lead and organized a caravan to the event and here from the inside of his '57 Chevy he has Bowling Green in sight in 2015!

Another Throwback Thursday memory from that 1st Tri Five Nationals in 2015, here club member James Carson (who drove his '57 from Ft Worth to Bowling Green) warming the tires on one of many passes he made at the drags that weekend! He plans to return next weekend for the 3rd event, which is predicted to reach 2500 '55-'57 Chevys all in one place!

Throwback Thursday this week highlights Kenneth Burton at the 2006 Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention Drags that were held in Denton, DACC played host that year and featured drag racing for the first time at Lone Star and it was a big hit! Ken competed in the 'Eliminator 2' class and was runner up to DACC member Alan Strong who took the class title.

This Throwback Thursday photo shows Ken Burton at the 2017 Tri Five Nationals in Bowling Green in the same '56 he ran at the 2006 Lone Star Convention, but during that time Kenneth re-did his '56 with a new look and new motor!
