With the 10th Anniversary of the Spring Classic Chevy Show coming up on April 11th, lets take a few Throwbacks leading up to the show and reflect back on some of the 'Favorite Picks' over the past 10 years. This event has always been a non judged, no fee, open to all '55-'57 Chevys event and that formula has been successful for DACC in attracting a great group of Tri Five Chevys each Spring. Here in this photo are the 'Favorites' from the 1st event in 2005 at Reliable Chevrolet, shown are Dean Schmidt's '57, James Sparrow's '56, Tim Rockett's '55 and Bill Preston's '57 Corvette.

Throwback this week looks back again at the Spring Classic Chevy Show, this time it's the 'Favorite '55 Chevy' pick by Reliable Chevrolet in 2009 which was Steve Pratt and his beautiful '55 Bel Air Sedan, here shown being congratulated by Reliable's Dave Anderson.

Another Throwback Thursday recognizing one of the Spring Show 'Favorites' from the past, this week is Kevin Brown's '56 Chevy Pickup that was the 2007 'Favorite Pickup' pick by Reliable Chevrolet. Don't forget that this year's Spring Classic Chevy Show is April 11th!

For this week's Throwback Thursday we are at the Spring Classic Chevy Show in 2012, and longtime DACC member Irv Engelbrecht is picked by club sponsor Heritage Insurance as their 'Favorite Tri Five Chevy' at the show. Irv drives his 'American Graffiti' style '55 up from Lufkin, TX to the show nearly every year and is always an attraction at the show each year.

With the 33rd Lone Star Classic Chevy Convention coming up just around the corner, lets reflect back this week for Throwback Thursday to 1989 and the 7th Lone Star that was hosted by the Concho Classic Chevy Club in San Angelo, the DACC President that year was Mike Russell and he drove his beautiful '56 Sedan out to West Texas for the event, a car that he still owns today!

This week for Throwback we are recognizing Lone Star again in San Angelo but in 1998 when the Concho Classic Chevy Club hosted the event, and this was the dash plaque from that Convention.

This week's Throwback Thursday goes back just a couple of years when the San Angelo was the host again, and this multi media highlight reel will take you back to Lone Star XXXI in 2013.

This week's Throwback we have a group of club members heading down a road somewhere in Texas pointed towards San Antonio in 2010 for the Lone Star Convention, it seems that with old cars the phrase 'It's About The Journey, Not The Destination' applies many times, but in this case San Antonio is not a bad destination! DACC will be heading again to San Antonio in just over a week for the 33rd Lone Star Convention!

This week we go to the very first Lone Star in 1983 held in Austin, here the judging is taking place for the Show N Shine that was held in the parking lot of the LBJ Library.

It was 2011 when DACC hosted Lone Star '29', arguably the best Lone Star event to date and attendance of 250 registered cars from 11 states and 30 car clubs represented! This week's Throwback Thursday features the poster that was produced to highlight the event held in Irving.

With all the constant rain we have been getting this spring in North Texas, why not have some in Throwback Thursday! Here is a shot from 2004 of Dean Schmidt motoring down the freeway in a downpour in his beautiful but wet '57 Chevy!

With the upcoming Poker Run out to the east side of the metro area, here is a memory from 11 years ago when DACC was out driving their cars, is there anything cooler than looking in the rear view and see nothing but Tri Five Chevys! Plan to join us Saturday June 13th when we head out on the back roads towards Pittsburg TX for this year's Poker Run!

With the Poker Run coming up, let's take Throwback Thursday back to 2010 and the great Poker Run we had that year that was in and around Waxahachie and where one of several winners included Alan Strong!

Throwback Thursday this week returns to the very early days of DACC. The club formed in the spring of 1976 thanks to the efforts of Greg Easley who also served as the club's first President. DACC was a 'Local Chapter' of the 'Classic Chevy Club' which was our national club that had just began as the exclusive worldwide club for 1955-1957 Chevys. The DACC's first national exposure was the below announcement that appeared in the October 1976 issue of 'Classic Chevy World'. And here we are almost 40 years later and perhaps the only club from those early days that still exists 100% devoted to the '55-'57 Chevy. Who'd a thunk!
