UPDATE
Texas Bill to Eliminate Ethanol in Gasoline to be Considered on Wednesday, April 29, 2015
Legislation (H.B. 1693) to prohibit the sale of motor fuel with an ethanol mixture will be considered by the House Agriculture and Livestock Committee on Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
If You Have Not Done So Already, Please Contact Members of the House Agriculture and Livestock Committee (List Below) Immediately to Request Support for H.B. 1693
•H.B. 1693 recognizes that ethanol fuels cause problems with fuel pumps, fuel gauges, as well as other engine performance issues, especially over a period of time when the vehicle is not used. Current high performance specialty parts along with pre-model year 2001 cars and parts may be most susceptible to corrosion.
•H.B. 1693 acknowledges that ethanol has been shown to decrease fuel mileage.
•H.B. 1693 recognizes that the life span of vehicles and equipment can be dramatically reduced with the wrong fuel and that owners could be confronted with break downs. Anti-corrosion additives are available for each purchase of gasoline but can become expensive, burdensome and require consumer education.
DON’T DELAY! Please contact House Agriculture and Livestock Committee members to request support for H.B. 1693. Please e-mail a copy of your letter to Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org. Also, please forward this Alert to your fellow car enthusiasts. Urge them to join the SAN and help defend the hobby! Thank you for your assistance.

UPDATE
from SEMA Action Network
Texas Bill to Eliminate Ethanol in Gasoline Dies as Legislature Adjourns
Legislation (H.B. 1693) to prohibit the sale of motor fuel with an ethanol mixture died when the Legislature adjourned for the year. The bill recognized that ethanol fuels cause problems with fuel pumps, fuel gauges, as well as other engine performance issues, especially over a period of time when the vehicle is not used. Current high performance specialty parts along with pre-model year 2001 cars and parts may be most susceptible to corrosion. The measure also acknowledged that ethanol has been shown to decrease fuel mileage.
Thank you to those who participated in supporting this bill. _________________ In My Garage -

So if the Texas Legislature won't address this.. perhaps the Feds will -
WRITE YOUR EMAILS NOW!
link to Congress members at the bottom!
U.S. Congress Introduces Bill to Reform Ethanol Mandate
Legislation (HR 704) has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives to prohibit the sale of E15 (gasoline that is 15% ethanol) and eliminate the federal Renewable Fuel Standard’s (RFS) mandate that 15 billion gallons of corn-based ethanol be blended into the U.S. fuel supply each year. The EPA has turned to sales of E15 to achieve the law’s artificial mandate. Ethanol, especially in higher concentrations such as E15, can cause damage to older vehicles.
Please Contact Your Member of Congress (contact information below) to Request Support for HR 704
• Ethanol can cause metal corrosion and dissolve certain plastics and rubbers, especially in older vehicles that were not constructed with ethanol-compatible materials.
• HR 704 would eliminate the unrealistic mandates imposed under the RFS such as requiring refiners to blend 36 billion gallons of biofuels by 2022.
• HR 704 would prohibit the sale of E15 gas in order to help meet the artificial RFS deadlines.
• HR 704 would protect older vehicles from the risks posed by E15.
DON’T DELAY! Please contact your Member of Congress in Washington, DC immediately to request their support for RFS reform. Please email a copy of your letter to Eric Snyder at erics@sema.org. Also, please forward this Alert to your fellow automotive enthusiasts. Urge them to join the SAN and help defend the hobby! Thank you for your assistance.
