Very sad to report that long time member RD Wallace passed away on November 17, 2015. He and his wife Ellen were members of the club at the beginning and served many roles during their active years with the club. As lifetime members of DACC, they continue to look forward to getting the newsletter each month. I and Alan Strong were fortunate to have visited RD and Ellen just recently as RD donated his Classic Chevy magazine collection to the club and RD seemed be in great health at 90 years old. That collection has been organized by Alan and will be available for anyone wishing to review any tech articles and club news from the old Classic Chevy Club. During our visit he and Ellen shared the story how they met - he was in the Army in Germany and she was a young German girl that was swept off her feet, he returned to the states unexpectedly and thought he would never see her again but with the help of a lawyer friend he was able to get her to the states where they married. RD was one of the nations premier restorers of 1957 Chevys and was a great asset to the club with his knowledge that he shared. His 'Black Gold' '57 Bel Air will likely go down as his most prized restoration of the many that he did. He will be missed and our prayers are with Ellen.
