I broke a lug (pass. front brake drum) on a 57 Belaire. Is there a business in the Plano/Dallas area that can replace that lug for me. Looks like the lugs are in a bracket riveted on the inside of the drum, you can't just press them out. Thanks. |

The brake drum is held to the hub by rivits. They can be drilled or ground off to seperate the drum from the hub. Then the studs can be removed and replace in the hub. See :Brake Drum Replacement". http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1955/55csm0306.html The rivits are not needed. The wheel and studs hold the drum. |
