Does anyone recall a step by step install installation article on putting an 83 or newer corvette IFS onto a 55-57 frame. Even better would be someones car in the DFW area that has one on it. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you; Evan |

Evan, I have one. A complete one on my 55-57 frame. Car Creations info@carcreations.com did frame conversion and then I powdercoated it and mounted the complete susp from a 95-96 Vette on it. See my car on Cardomain.com under member name area56 or area57 or just scroll down the '56 Bel Airs until you see a primered '56 Bel Air HDTP. Several different companies make conversions(Fatman, Progressive Sus, Car Creations, etc.). You can buy a complete front and rear 88-96 Vette susp from Just Corvettes in Missouri for $1350-1550. That's all of it including brakes, sway bars. They'll have the info on the car it came out of. The '96 rear susp has fiberglass radius rods(dog bones) but you can still order a '96 and ask for the 88-96 aluminum dogbones. I saw a Vette rearend only at Good Guys last year. The guy was asking $1250 and it didn't have the rear spring or hardware. You want the complete susp or at least the complete rear for your project. Ed @ stur815@verizon.net |
