Hopefully y'all won't think this is stupid, but...

I am trying to find someone who will drive my parents in their Classic 1955 Chevy to their 50th wedding anniversary party at the Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney on August 20th, 2005.

My parents were married in Dallas in a church near White Rock Lake on August 26, 1955, and my brother and I are hosting a small dinner and dance for them.

I am looking for someone to drive them at 7pm from their house to the club and pick them up at 11pm to take them home, and they live less than 5 miles) from the country club.

I know many of you would never consider letting anyone drive your special car, so I would plan to pay you for doing this, and you would be more than welcome to attend the party if you wish.

I forgot to say that my alternative is to hire a limo,

so I am willing to pay $200-$300 for virtually 1 hour of your time.

A big problem is not enough members participate in this forum. We would like more involvment but it's progress is slow. Maybe David can send an email to members with 55's on your behalf.

Maybe it would help if I just cut it to picking them up at their house and taking them to the country club. My husband and I can drive them home. That would make it easier for whomever would want to do it because they wouldn't have to stick around afterward.

If a '55 won't work out I would certainly consider a '56 or '57. I don't think they would say "Nice thought, Suzi, but it's a '56!", so maybe that's a better way to go. It's really the memory of the time period I am trying to create and not the exact day.
