I need help in diagnosing what is wrong with my transmission. I had it rebuilt because it was locking up when you put it in reverse. However, the overdrive unit always worked flawlessly. After the rebuild the problem with reverse is cured but now it free wheels but won't drop into overdrive. I am sure that all the electrical components are OK and the only thing I can think of is that upon reassembly the blocker ring slipped out of position and is preventing the sun gear pawl from engaging the control plate. Help! Are there any other possibilities? How can I test whether this is the case without disassembling the trans?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
