Hi Guy's,
Are the bottom front shock bolts 5/16-18? I had my A frames powered and they are really tight. I think there may be paint in the threads but I want to be sure before I run a tap through.
Thanks

Find a nut that fits the bolts, then make sure the tap threads easily through the nut, if so than you have the right tap. _________________ I'm addicted to brake fluid but I can stop anytime I want. |

Excellent idea but the A frames were dismantled when I bought the car and the bolts were missing. |

Well, that does complicate matters, dosn't it. I went out and pulled one of my shock bolts, they are indeed 5/16 18, about an inch long. _________________ I'm addicted to brake fluid but I can stop anytime I want. |

Sunday the 21st
Dedication to Chevy nuts, that,s what I like about being one. Thanks for the time and effort. I ran a tap through and cleaned it out, it worked great.
.............
Monday the 22nd....... went to Lowe's, Home Depot, O'Reillys, N.A.P.A and Huffines parts with no luck. Other than the wrecking yard any suggestions where to find those bolts? I could use locks and flats but it looks cheesy. |

My pleasure, John.
See if there's an Ace Hardware somewhere nearby. Man, if Homedepot doesn't have such a common bolt, I'll surrender my nail sack _________________ I'm addicted to brake fluid but I can stop anytime I want. |

TRACTOR SUPPLY HAS 5/16 x 18 and you buy by the pound I have several in my bolt tray of different lengths. There is another place in Garland just east of 635 off Kingsley. |

Go by Big-D Bolt & Tool on Miller Rd. in Garland. They'll have whatever you need. I've gotten a lot of my hardware there. You can get stainless steel hardware "cheap". They are real nice and accommodating. _________________ "Getting older is inevitable......acting your age is a choice....I choose not to! |
