My original tempt gauge in my dash is disconnected since I bought my 57. I would like for the gauge to work. Does anyone know how to check the gauge to see if it works without actually hooking it up to the engine?
I have a Sun set of gauges with a temp gauge in the 3 pack mounted under the dash, that I have been using. If the gauge in the dash works do you think I could piggy back of its sender for the original gauge?

Best I can recall if you take the wire that goes to the sending unit and go direct to ground it should move the needle up, the same way the sending unit works except it is all the way not through the resistance of the sender. When you disconnect the ground wire the needle should go back to rest. This is the only way I know to check either the temp gauge or the fuel gauge. |
